Ready to start training again

I just recently finished a class of figure competitors for the Flint MI competition held on October 11th. My girls did awesome and I was in awe at how far they came in 12 weeks. They received a couple first places, and a couple of second places. One of the girls, it was her first show and she got first and second. What a great accomplishment for her.

Having helped them through the 12 weeks and watching them on stage, makes me want to start training again. I love the training and the way your body changes in that short period of time. So I am definitely ready to go again. The best thing about this time around, is that I am lighter to start with than I was before. I am hoping that this works for my advantage and I can achieve my goal.

I will be starting in January, but for now I am working on increasing my cardio and being consistant with my weight training. I am coming back from a few injuries and have not been working out as much as I use to.

I look forward to start training again. If anyone is interested in figure training, Please contact me. There is nothing more fun that training with a team of girls. I would like to start a class in January to prepare for March and April show.

Have a great day.

Good News

My personal business is starting to finally take off. I have a complete gym in my basement and have been having classes and doing one on one training. I have more clients than I did before with a lot more potential. I really enjoy having my business in my house. It just works for me a lot better. I also have possibilities of making a strength training dvd, doing nutrition seminars, and some other things going on.

My real passion is to get into the schools, especially the elementary schools, to help kids get more physical activity and teach them the good and bad things to eat. There is such a high percentage of overweight and obese kids and it is not getting any better. I just would like to touch as many of them as I can to improve their self esteem and get them moving.

I love to see when someone makes a change in their lives and improves their health and well being. Everyone can do it, it takes someone who cares and is willing to help. I love being that perosn. I love to watch their changes and see their self esteem increase and become happy with themselves.

If you have a need for a nutrition class either in a business setting or at a school just contact me at personal.fitness.inc@gmail.com. You can also contact me if you need some advise about diet and exercise.

RESULTS

Well it has been a while since I have blogged. As for the results of the competitions that I worked so hard for, I got fifth in the Gaylord show and won the Flint competition two weeks later. It was a lot of fun and I cannot wait to start training again.

Actually, I did start training again for October shows, but ended up with a stress fracture in my foot and had a cast and crutches for a month. Now I am still battling the stupid foot and cannot run or do any cardio that puts pressure on my foot. Needless to say, I am out of commission for a while, but hope to be back by January.

I still try and do as much strength training as possible, and I have taken up riding the bike. Eating is always an issue, especially if i don't have a goal in mind yet. It will come soon enough.

I am definitely going to compete in Gaylord again. I want to win that competition and I am thinking about doing the Mrs. Michigan United States competition. I have been reading everything on the internet about it and I like that fact that you can use the pageant to work for a special cause.

That is what I would really like to do. I am very concerned about the weight issues of children and would like to be able to help as many families as I can.

Anyway, it takes a lot of commitment and money and I have the commitment, just need to work on the money aspect. I love a new challenge and I hope this is going to it

Have a healthy day!!!!!

I am four weeks away from my show and I am the weight and the body fat I was the day I did my last show. It amazes me that I can still be four weeks out and have time to lose more weight and body fat. When I decided that I was going to do a show again, my only goal was to win and that is what is going to happen. My weight is 128 and my body fat is 12.3%. Remember my goal was to be 125 and 10%. I am very close and hope to go past that goal.

Having a good day

Well I made it past the plateau today of 133. I was 131 this morning. That is pretty cool. I did Back and chest and abs today in my basement. My husband is a great workout partner and he worked out with me. I got a home gym for Christmas and since then, I do not have to go to the gym as much anymore. It is very convenient.

I am a personal trainer at a local gym and the facility is awesome. I have some great friends there and I love to be there. My ultimate goal is to train enough people at home so that I do not have to work at the gym anymore. I also love to bake and cook. I have cooked for my clients in the past and had a great time doing it. I love to create these healthy meals and know that someone can enjoy them. I also love to bake. Although baking is not very healthy, I love to make stuff for special occasions. I love to see the look on peoples faces when they are enjoying my creations. All the ingredients in my recipes are good. Nothing with high fructose corn syrup or hydrogenated oil. So in a way, it is good for you in a bad way.

My ultimate goal is to help families, especially children get educated about the food that they eat. The more that you cook or bake from scratch, the healthier it is for you. I want to be able to educate families and children and see that they can change some of their habits and still enjoy what they are eating.

I think about this all the time. Food is a huge part of Americans lives. Everyone celebrates with food. I would like to be able to help people realize that food is made for fuel and not celebrations, not like what the advertising industry would like us to believe.

Anyway, if anyone would like more information or need some food cooked for them, just email me. personal.fitness.inc@gmail.com

6 weeks from competition

I am now six weeks from the competition in April. It seems like yesterday I just started training for it. My goal for the end of February was 130 and 13.5% body fat. Well I made the body fat on February 15th, but ended up 133. Only lost 2 pounds that month, but my body fat went down almost 2%. The last time I trained for a competition, I was a lot further behind on weight and body fat, so I am very excited about my results this time.

My plan for the next 5 weeks is to perfect on my eating and get more cardio in and get all my exercising in . My plan is to eat around 1400 calories with 20% fat, and the rest split between carbohydrates and protein. I have a smoothie in the morning, then oatmeal and berries, then eggs and sweet potatoes, chicken salad and sweet potatoes, and lastly chicken stir fry with lots of veggies. Drinking a lot of water everyday.

This weekend, was a challenge, we were away for four days. I had to bring my food for the entire weekend and cook meals in my hotel room. It was hard, but I made it. I made sure that I didn't go near any of the bad food that was around us and I got to the gym 2 of the days and went skiing one of the other days. It was a mission accomplished and very excited that I made it through.

Eight weeks until the show

Tomorrow will be eight weeks until the show. I measured by body fat this week and it was 13.9%. This is the lowest it has ever been 8 weeks out, so I am very excited. As for my weight, my scale said 134 which was no change, but the scale at work said 132, which was 1.5 pounds down. That was very exciting.

This week was good. We eat out three times with week, which is very hard to keep your calorie count where you would like it. At any rate, things are going good. I did make cookies and doughnuts this week for valentines day for my kids. I love to bake, but not eat. Everyone is surprised that I can do it. When you have a goal and are committed to it, it is not so hard to reframe from the bad temptations.

I got new shoes for the show today and they are cool. I am still looking for a suit in navy blue or red. If any one can help with the suit, I need a two piece. Email me if you have any suggestions. I am thinking about having my mom make it for me. She is great at sewing, but I am not sure on how to jewel it up. Again, if anyone can help email me.

That is all for today. Have a healthy day
